Yellow Bridge is the only link between Nusa Ceningan and Nusa Lembongan. It’s one of the sights that became an icon by accident. Because tourists couldn’t go from Lembongan to Nusa Ceningan, the authorities renovated it. They painted the bridge yellow when it was completed and it became a sensation in Bali. The Yellow bridge is not big and not great in length although it has great value to the travelers.

Things to expect in Yellow Bridge

Once you reach the Nusa Lembongan port you will see the Yellow Bridge heading towards Nusa Ceningan. You will see the Yellow Bridge area as a gateway to the two islands. You can’t decide whether you are going to Nusa Ceningan or Nusa Lembongan and vice versa. There are boats by fishermen under the bridge. Some local and tourist boats will also be there. From the Yellow Bridge’s end, you will find restaurants, cafes, and tour groups selling their activities. It is a very important location in Nusa Ceningan. The Yellow Bridge doesn’t have any fee for crossing or exploring.

History of Yellow Bridge

Although it’s an iconic symbol in Nusa Ceningan, it has a very small and sad history. The bridge was originally built in 1996 by the local government just to connect two islands and their people. It was all good and people found quick access across these two Islands. In 2016, a tragedy happened. A Hindu group of people were crossing the Yellow Bridge with a large number of people. The tiny bridge couldn’t hold the people and it eventually crashed nine people were killed in this accident and more than 30 people were fatally injured. After the worst nightmare, Bali authorities built it to tackle more load and painted it according to the vibe and it eventually became a place to talk about. People all over the world come here and take photos. It is also an instagram friendly place.

How to get there

Klungkung, Kabupaten Klungkung, Bali 80771, Indonesia is the location of the Yellow Bridge. To reach the Yellow Bridge on the lovely island of Nusa Ceningan, you must first go to Bali. If you are in Jakarta, a flight will take around 1 hour and 40 minutes. There are several flights available, the lowest of which is the Lion Air trip, which costs roughly $50 USD. You may take a car from Ngurah Rai Airport in Bali to Sanur Port once you arrive at the Bali airport. You may take a swift boat from Sanur port to Jungut Batu Port on the island of Nusa Lembongan.
